The Asia Pacific Institute of Embryology (ASPIER) in Mysore successfully hosted a significant national conference in collaboration with the University of Mysore, focusing on “Current Updates and Recent Advances in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART).” Held from November 16-17, the event attracted delegates from across India, underscoring the critical importance of ongoing advancements in reproductive medicine.

The conference commenced with a welcoming address by Dr. Suresh Kattera, Director ASPIER, who also delivered an insightful keynote on the past, present, and future of IVF. His presentation provided attendees with a comprehensive overview of the field’s progress and the promising developments on the horizon.

A key feature of the conference was the panel discussions, which assembled esteemed experts from various regions of India to address pressing topics impacting ART today. These interactive sessions enabled participants to engage directly with leading professionals, fostering an environment of knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

The inauguration was graced by Prof. Lokanath, Vice Chancellor of the University of Mysore, who lauded the initiative and emphasized the importance of continuous research and open dialogue in the field of reproductive medicine. The chief guest, Shri Yaduveer Wodeyar, MP, Mysore-Kodagu constituency, expressed his support for the initiative, recognizing the pivotal role ART plays in helping individuals and couples achieve their dreams of parenthood.

The guest of honour for the closing ceremony was Professor Rangappa, former Vice Chancellor of both the University of Mysore and Karnataka State Open University. In his address, Professor Rangappa reminded attendees that while technological progress is essential, it must be pursued with integrity and a steadfast commitment to ethical practices.

The Asia Pacific Institute of Embryology, which offers an MSc in Clinical Embryology and Pre-implantation Genetics in partnership with the Mysuru Fertility Centre, continues to lead in research and education related to reproductive technologies. This conference marks an essential step towards bridging gaps in knowledge and fostering collaborations that will drive the future of ART.
