ASPIER Wishes World IVF & Embryologist Day

Asia Pacific Institute of Embryology (ASPIER) celebrated 46th world Embryologists and IVF day on July 25th, the day the first IVF baby Louise Brown was born. It has been 46 years since her birth and the field has grown in leaps and bounds.

Dr Suresh Kattera, Professor & Director of ASPIER cut the cake on this occasion who started his career in this field 41 years ago who is one of the pioneers in this field having many world-firstachievements to his credit.

He has developed and modified new techniques and one such is in micromanipulation; Rescue ICSI and microsurgical enucleation which has helped ASPIER students develop their skills in ICSI and employing these skills in the IVF centres. Many countries around the world follow his techniques and practice. Dr Suresh who is passionate about teaching embryology has led to the establishment of ASPIER and MSc course in Clinical Embryology &Pre-implantation genetics almost 10 years ago and has taught and trained more than 1000 students.
